I investigate the role of 'diversity' (including social identities such as gender, ethnicity, and disability) in structuring contemporary organizations unequally and in processes of managerial control and workers' resistance. I conceptualize diversity by drawing on critical discourse analysis and marxism, with attention for the relation between social identities and power-laden processes of valuing and valuation of individuals and their work.
