Saskia Krijger wins EUR Athena Prize for promoting female talent

Erasmus University Rotterdam

Saskia Krijger, an EUR Holding B.V consultant, is this year’s winner of the ENVH Athena Prize for the employee who has made exceptional efforts for advancing female talent. The Athena Prize will be presented during the 103rd Dies Natalis of Erasmus University Rotterdam.

Erasmus University Rotterdam and the Erasmus Network of Female Professors (ENVH) aim to achieve a proportional representation of female employees. To facilitate this, ENVH has initiated the Athena Prize to recognise employees who have made exceptional efforts to advance female talent, and by doing so, provide an exemplary role for colleagues. Last year’s winner of the Athena Prize was Professor Maria Grever.

On the recommendation of a committee chaired by Chief Diversity Officer Hanneke Takkenberg, the Executive Board decided to award the Athena Prize to Saskia Krijger. According to the jury, Krijger, first in the position of external consultant and later as Head of HRM/Personnel & Organisation with Erasmus School of Economics, has always advocated for increased diversity among personnel and students. “She has shown her commitment in encouraging women to develop their careers according to their own wishes by acting as a personal coach”, the jury says.
